Kits and Pricing The comprehensive Radial Rocket airframe kit includes pre-molded outer skins which utilize pre-preg materials that are vacuumed bagged and oven cured, yielding components optimized for light weight, high strength, and aerodynamic cleanliness. Carbon fiber materials are used in selected areas of the airframe, such as wing spar caps and fuselage longerons, to give even greater weight savings and strength. The fuselage consists of left and right halves, which include the vertical stabilizer. Pre-molded overlapping joggles ensure quick and accurate fuselage shell assembly. Flat pre-molded, honeycomb core panels are supplied in the kit for fabrication of internal ribs and bulkheads, for the fuselage as well as for the flying surfaces. The one-piece wing is supplied with the forward and aft spars completed and installed. Following installation of the wing ribs, aileron and flap actuating hardware is installed, followed by main gear strut installation and fuel tank completion. The “wet wing” fuel bays are sealed with an epoxy fuel sealer supplied in the kit. The wing is then closed utilizing a structural adhesive chosen for strength and more than adequate working time. Ailerons and flaps are built in place on the wing fixture, ensuring an accurate airfoil. In addition to the molded airframe skins and flat panels, the Radial Rocket kit includes, the engine mount, landing gear ( including wheels, tires, tubes, brakes, and struts), windshield and canopy, control system components and all hardware required to assemble the supplied airframe components. All weldments are complete – no welding required. Standard kit features include electric flaps and 3-axis electric trim.
